FRIDAY

It's a great weekend for hockey in Bonnyville. The Pontiacs host the Grande Prairie Storm for a pair and the Northeast Panthers are also home for two. The Grande Prairie midgets play the Panthers tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the RJ for those interested in a G.P. double header. The Midget Kodiaks then visit Bonnyville on Sunday afternoon.

The Storm are this years version of the Fort McMurray Oil Barrons in the eyes of the Bonnyville Pontiacs. The Pontiacs have not been able to find a way to beat the G.P. yet this season in three tries in their rink and once at the RJ. The MOB swept last years season series with the Pontiacs going 6-0. Bonnyville will be trying to avoid that same fate this weekend as these two games will conclude the regular season matchups between the clubs.

Bonnyville Pontiacs defenceman Steven Seigo has been named an assistant captain of the North Division all star team. The list of other captains is available here.

A plug for the old man. The Lethbridge Herald has a story on The Gord Hunter and the book he has written. Read the article here and then buy the book. My inheritance depends on it.

The voice of the Regina Pats Rod Pedersen has a great blog post today about the Regina vs. Moose Jaw rivalry in the WHL. Check out the post here. I haven't seen a mascot beat down in a while.
