I've turned into an official scoreboard watcher as of this week. I've been interested in certain matchups earlier in the year. A 1 vs 2 or a team on a roll getting a real test to see if they can match up but I know this is the first time all year where I've been looking ahead, for two days now, to a St. Albert vs. Fort McMurray contest.
The MOB are two points back of Bonnyville for 4th place in the North while the Steel are 5 back.
A St. Albert overtime victory would be the worst possible outcome for the Pontiacs and wouldn't really help the Oil Barrons or Steel too much either as nobody really gains all that much ground so here's to somebody ending it in regulation.
Either way, it's that time of year where every game will be critiqued and every play is going to be scrutinized. Oh playoffs ... only 16 days away.
-----
Former Pontiacs captain Jamie Sadlowski apparently misses the game. Feel free to come on back Sadlow.
A National Post story. Not bad.

From our broadcast on Saturday night in Calgary here's the voice of the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins talking about the year Mark Letestu is having.
-----
Steven Jean has been added to the roster again so it looks like the Pontiacs will still have some injury issues heading into Thursday night.
Kirk Belyk started skating this week but is likely still a couple weeks away. Craig Cuthbert is also back on the ice and would be listed as doubtful for tomorrow.
-----
Speaking of Belyk ... he's still listed as having played in the December 13th game in Okotoks. I guess my blog isn't that well read. (some would add "or well written")
-----
The Pontiacs are 1-0-0-1 on Thursday nights this year, beating Drayton Valley and losing to Grande Prairie in overtime. Both games were played on the road making tomorrow the first Thursday night game of the year at the RJ Lalonde. Followed closely by the first Monday game to be played this season by the team.

The City of Cold Lake is hosting a charity hockey game between the Calgary Flames and CFB Cold Lake.
It's happening Februrary 21st in conjunction with Tim Hortons Hockey Day in Canada and CBC's Doug Dirks will be rinkside for the event.
Joel Darling with CBC Sports says Cold Lake was chosen as one of 5 satellite locations for Hockey Day in Canada and is excited to include the military this year.
Doug Dirks will be doing live cut-ins to Ron Maclean in Campbellton, New Brunswick, the host location for Tim Hortons Hockey Day in Canada.

Vote here for Justin Fontaine to advance in the Hobey Barker award process. Being a sophmore it's probably not his year to win it but vote anyways.
-----
How about the year this former Pontiacs goalie is having.
