'BATSIE'

Congratulations to Shawn Bates. The Pontiacs forward has commited to attend Merrimack College for the 2010-2011 season.

That last part is the best news for Pontiacs fans, they will have another 62 games plus playoffs to watch Bates as he will be back next season.

Go celebrate with a hat trick Shawn.

I haven't seen it reported anywhere else yet so I'll mention it. The player the Camrose Kodiaks got in return for Colin Duek and Nick Chartier is Brad McConnell of the Nanaimo Clippers. McConnell had 20 points in 24 games with the Clippers this year and should be in the lineup for Saturday night against the Pontiacs. The move also makes room for Matthew Schmurmund of the Kodiaks who played his first game with Camrose last night in their 3-0 win over Drayton Valley.

We will be joined by Bandits game host Bruce Barker on the broadcast tonight during the first intermission. Also back for the intermissions and post game will be Ryan Bailey for his lockerroom interviews with players from the Pontiacs. On tonight's player profile we will chat with Steven Seigo. We haven't chatted with him since his return from the WJAC. I will ask if any of his American teamates gave him a hard time about losing to the U.S. in the final.
