The Pontiacs were on the bus by 9:30 this morning. I spent some time during the morning show on Kool this morning typing up an update and then was in such a rush to catch the bus forgot to hit the publish post button. My bad.
The early departure got us into Fort McMurray in time to have a pregame meal and now the team is resting in the hotel preparing for tonight's game.

How tough is it to win at Thickwood Heights Arena? The Pontiacs have not won a regular season game here since September 29th, 2006. They did pick up a win here in the playoffs during the second round last year. The MOB are 9 games over .500 at home this year while 2 games under .500 on the road.

With Grande Prairie having four games in hand on Bonnyville while being only one point back it seems to be only a matter of time before the Storm overtake the Pontiacs for third in the North Division, at least in the near term. If that does happen then this Pontiacs vs. Oil Barrons matchup could be a first round playoff matchup. Okay... It's only November and we are only half way through the season but can't one stretch for a story line?

The Pontiacs went through an intense practise yesterday in preparation for these two games in Fort Mac. Ashton Hewson should be good to go for tonight as he recovers from his lower body injury while the flu is still having an impact on some Pontiacs players making a couple questionable for this evening. We'll have more on the Telephone Connections Pregame Show.

Congratulations to Pontiacs netminder Julien Laplante for being named to the CJHL prospects game to be held in P.E.I December 16th and 17th. Laplante is 9-3-2 with a GAA of 2.40 and a 91.76 SV%.

I don't know why I seem to be turning into some sort of Grande Prairie Storm advocate or something but how do Brooks and Okotoks get an honorable mention on the CJHL top 15 but nothing for the Storm? They have more points than Okotoks and the same as Brooks in 3 less games. Their winning percentage is third best in the league and they have given up the least number of goals in the league by a margin of 17 goals.
