FRIDAY

Criag Cuthbert is back skating with the team. He's out for tomorrow night but might get bumped up to possible for Wednedsay against Sherwood Park. Belyk and Seigo are still out for at least another week.

There are reports the Pontiacs made a move with a team in Saskatchewan. We'll find out more when it becomes official.

-----

A day removed the result from Wednesday night is still just as disappointing. A chance to move 8 points up on Fort McMurray was not capitalized on. There is one game in November and it's hard to believe the Pontiacs have played 34 games on the year giving everyone else in the league at least a game in hand. The Pontiacs have had chances to put teams away, like in Fort Mac, and to make up ground in front of them, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove, but have let those chances slip by.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the team is healthy and have had some more off days for practice but until then the team will continue to battle through.

More practice time is not something these players are likely looking forward to as I understand "conditioning" was high on the list of things to work on during practice yesterday and might be again today. Read between the lines here because I'm not questioning the Pontiacs actual conditioning as I believe it to be near the best in the league.

Because of American Thanksgiving there are NHL games on this afternoon. I don't have a TV in my office but I do have the headset plugged into the computer so I can listen to live internet radio coverage of the Bruins v. Islanders game. Maybe not the teams I would choose to listen to but this is living.

If the boss asks I'm doing research for ways to improve our broadcasts.

Actually might 'borrow' something now that I've been listening for a while.

Kinda wish my last name was Wheeler, don't know about the name Blake though.

We will visit with John Spigott in Lloyd tomorrow since we missed his "The View Down 897" this week. It's always an interesting interview with 'Spigs' who doesn't hold back ripping his team when they deserve it, although they have been playing well as of late.

This could be another tough game for the Bonnyville Pontiacs if they don't bring the emotion for it. They better not look passed the 7th place Bobcats to the matchup with Sherwood Park on Wednesday or they could be looking at a 2 game losing streak.
