Power Rankings on TheRobbHunter.com are compiled by a panel of media members who follow the AJHL. Rankings will be updated on Monday or Tuesday of every week.
1. Sherwood Park Crusaders – Number two in the country and number one in Alberta.
2. Spruce Grove Saints – Hamilton’s squad solidifies goaltending worries after getting Marozzi from Crusaders and a weekend split in G.P. has them on track in the North.
3. Drumheller Dragons – Best team in the South with an undefeated goaltender from the North. North Star AB, about 150km north of Grande Prairie is the proud home of Braden Gamble.
4. Bonnyville Pontiacs – Hottest team in the league ran into Sherwood Park roadblock. New additions making an impact.
5. Grande Prairie Storm – Three losses in their past four games against Drumheller and Spruce Grove. The schedule doesn’t get easier with a pair against Fort Mac, two with the Pontiacs and then a visit to Sherwood Park.
6. Calgary Canucks – Will be in tough with McKay gone to the World Junior A’s
7. Fort McMurray Oil Barrons – Didn’t trip on the doormat that is Drayton Valley. Seven game homestand coming up, MOB 10-0 at home to start the year.
8. Brooks Bandits – Off and on but have been more on as of late picking up seven in their last 10.
9. Olds Grizzly’s – Heading into a soft patch on their schedule.
10. Okotoks Oilers – Injuries caused their problems but a win over the Canucks is a step in the right direction for a young team.
11. St. Albert Steel – Can run and gun with the best of them. Too bad they can’t keep the puck out of their net. Will locker room shakeup have an effect?
12. Lloydminster Bobcats – Steel can score Bobcats can’t. Steel at 11 Bobcats at 12. Bobcats also trying locker room shakeup.
13. Camrose Kodiaks – Once Borris is done with the World’s will he stay the course with what he has or does he make a move?
14. Calgary Royals – 3-7 in their last 10 and last in the South can it get worse?
15. Canmore Eagles – Sort of. 1-9 in their last 10 but still ahead of the Royals overall.
16. Drayton Valley – Too bad this isn't English soccer so they could just be relegated already.
