THURSDAY

While Wednesday's feature is 'The View Down 897' it seems Thursday is turning into injury update day for the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

So here we go. Craig Cuthbert and Kirk Belyk are both out another 2 weeks. Ashton Hewson is not coming along as fast as first thought so he is still listed as doubtful for this weekend but is hopeful for Fort McMurray. Steven Seigo is also doubtful for the two home games and is only questionable for the Fort Mac trip since he has had such limited time on the ice since his injury at the WJAC. The flu is also still having it's effect on the team with a number of players missing days of practice this week. The team is hopeful they can make it through this next stretch of games without having to parachute in an AP but they are confident in their affiates being able to step in if it does come to that.

It's rain check night at the RJ tomorrow when the Banits come to town. Any unused seasons tickets from games earlier in the year can be redeemed at the C2 for a ticket to tomorrow's game. Try to do it early so you aren't holding up the lines for tickets at the welcome desk.

Brooks made a trade this week picking up the Williams brothers, Matt and Andy, from Fort McMurray earlier this week. Heading to the MOB are Matt Hallick and Erik Toews. Neither Williams brother was able to make it to Calgary in time to be in the lineup when the Bandits beat the Royals 6-3 on Tuesday.

Former Pontiacs goalie Adam Gingras got his first win as a Bandit in that game in Calgary. Expect Rob Gunderson to get the start for the Bandits when they play here though. Gunderson has been a quite a roll as Brooks has fought their way to the top of the South Division standings.

And an early reminder to bring your teddy bears to the rink on Saturday night. Kool 101.3 staff will be there to collect them. This goes back to a game on September 19th in Camrose when I had a bet with former Kool morning guy Dave Tymo, who is now in Camrose, that our Pontiacs would beat his Kodiaks. The Pontiacs won and now Dave will be in town on Saturday to live up to his end of the bargain. He has to sing the national anthem at the game that night when Bonnyville hosts Camrose.

The teddy bears come into it because if the Pontiacs had lost that game I would have been responsible for collecting bears and donating them to a Camrose charity. Well we decided we would go ahead with the bear collection anyways but since the good guys won the bears will be donated to a charity in Bonnyville.

Might give one to Dave for being such a good sport.
