TUESDAY'S TANGENTS

One last practice this morning for the Bonnyville Pontiacs before boarding the bus this afternoon bound for Grande Prairie.

When the two highest scoring teams in the AJHL met on Friday at the RJ Lalonde it was a hard fought low scoring affair between the Pontiacs and Dragons. Now Bonnyville heads to G.P. to play arguably the best defensive team in the league. Could we see a high scoring matchup at the Canada Games Arena?

The Storm have only nine even strength goals in as many games with only eight PP goals to add to that total to average less than two goals a game since October 15th. What happened October 15th? The Pontiacs came to town and got shelled early giving up four in the first and seven on the game. In that same stretch though the Pontiacs have nine wins in 10 games.

High scoring or not this two game set in G.P. will be a battle. Every inch of ice becomes important. It will be the third and fourth efforts that win these games.

Steven Seigo did not practice with the team today as he is nursing some WJAC wounds and not just the losing 7-1 in the gold medal game kind.

Look for three in the booth tomorrow night in G.P. Something done on Monday Night Football for years and has been done in hockey as well. Should be interesting as we'll have Nick Kuhl playing the role of Tony Kornheiser and Kirk Belyk actually being someone who knows what they are talking about.

Stay tuned for Wednesday's new feature.

I've heard the reason the WJAC games weren't available online was because Camrose Kodiaks announcer Tim Ellis was busy at the CFR in Edmonton. Good for Tim. With his job at CFCW the Canadian Finals Rodeo is as big an event as they get. However, off the top of my head here's a quick list of guys I think would have accepted an invitation to cover the event for Hockey Canada.

John Spiggot -- voice of the Lloydminster Bobcats
Bruce Barker -- former voice of the Camrose Kodiaks
Chris Colwell -- voice of the Okotoks Oilers
Jeff Hensen -- voice of the Grande Prairie Storm
Guy Flaming -- Team 1040 Edmonton
Dean Millard -- Team 1040 Edmonton
Dustin Nielson -- voice of the Oil Barrons

There are more but I've got a bus to catch.
