The Pontiacs arrived into Grande Prairie just before 9:00 last night. A relaxing trip with good roads and the team was able to make good time.
-----
Steven Seigo is still nursing a lower body injury he picked up at the WJAC and did not make the trip. Seig's is expected back for Saturday night at the earliest but a few more days of rest might be in order. Tanner Fritz of the Storm is also back from the WJAC and is expected to play tonight. Grande Prairie was 2-3 with Fritz out of the lineup and they think he will be able to bring more punch to the Storm attack. Fritz has 17 points in 18 games so far this year.
-----
The Storm might just be .500 in their last ten but Coach Mike Vandekamp is paying attention to what the Pontiacs have been doing lately.
“They’re one of the best teams in the division this year. They’re good defensively, they’re big and they work hard,” Vandekamp told the Grande Prairie Daily Herald Tribune.
“They will be a very tough challenge. I personally think they’re one of the strongest teams in our division, if not the strongest.”
-----
Tyler Henry is on the trip but is doubtful for tonight with the flu. Hopefully for the Pontiacs it's just the 24 hour variety and he'll be good to go for tomorrow.
-----
Kirk Belyk has been called out of the broadcast booth and put on video duty for tonight so our broadcast will be without the one who knows what he's talking about and left with our own Tony Kornheiser. Nick Kuhl will only be able to join us tonight and I should be flying solo tomorrow.
-----
The Pontiacs have lost the previous two meetings between these clubs losing once in G.P. and again back at the RJ. They will be looking for a measure of revenge tonight.
